Core Knowledge Podcast with Lisa Mueller
“A career path is rarely a straight line. Following your passions, lead from that place, explore and lean into what your skills are. Lisa Mueller has a love for writing and a passion for solving complex engineering problems. Today she finds herself using both of these skills while working to solve one of the most complex problems of today... delivering low to no carbon energy. With FutEra Power, Lisa is working on delivering a groundbreaking co-produced geothermal power project.”
First Co-Produced Geothermal Power Project To Highlight Alberta Innovation
“In the context of Alberta’s growing geothermal sector, the FutEra model sets itself apart in that it is truly transitional within one operational framework — by directly linking the inherent value in conventional oil and gas operations to a future baseload energy source.”
Canada: The Landscape Of Geothermal Energy As A Renewable Energy Source
“Canadian start-ups are leveraging their oil and gas drilling expertise to attract international attention in the geothermal sphere. These projects demonstrate the potential for [the] development of geothermal energy and the existing talent for Canada to become an industry leader.”
Construction Started on Geothermal Project in Swan Hills, Alberta
In May 2021, FutEra Power Corp. (“FutEra”), a subsidiary of Razor, entered the project execution stage of its Geothermal Project. FutEra expects the total capital cost of the Geothermal Project to be C$34 million. Stage Gate 1 is fully funded. Stage Gate 2 requires additional financing, which FutEra continues to seek. With both Stage Gate 1 and 2 of the Geothermal Project complete, the total nameplate electricity output will be 18 MW, of which up to 30% will be sustainable clean power generation (so around 6 MW).
